Health, Wealth and Families: How to Assure Your Wealth Helps, Not Hurts, Your Family

Leslie Dashew

October 1, 2022

Many families, who have built or inherited wealth, worry that their wealth will hurt their families, destroy their children’s motivation to work, or contribute to dysfunction in the lives of their grandchildren.

Overview

Health, Wealth and Families explores dilemmas and challenges faced by affluent families. Many families of wealth worry that their children or grandchildren will be spoiled, waste their assets, be taken advantage of by gold-diggers and/or become lazy, addicted or destructive. The book lays out a framework for understanding how to help children grow up emotionally healthy. It provides actions parents and grandparents can take to provide their offspring with the skills to manage their assets effectively.

Additional content covers how families can conduct family meetings, discuss values and dreams, and learn to steward shared assets in a productive fashion.
