Jonathan Magidovitch

Jonathan is a trusted advisor to families in business both in the U.S. and Israel. Areas of work include values and vision clarity, current leadership development, preparing the next generation, governance, communication, transition, and business culture building.

Overview & history

Jonathan has worked in a variety of industries including manufacturing, high tech, food service, construction, law offices and charitable institutions. He is a keen observer and helps his clients gain insight they can act on.

For over 20 years, Jonathan served as a congregational rabbi where he helped families manage significant life transitions. He served as a founding board member of the Cardinal Bernardin Center at Spertus College and for Southeast Lake County Faith in Action.

He served on national and regional boards for AIPAC. He has been president of Yedid Nefesh Congregation in Karmi’el, Israel. Jonathan and his wife Shana recently sold their Israeli land development business, Ada 13, Ltd.

Experience & academic background

Jonathan has a Masters degree from the University of Virginia in Educational Measurement and both a Masters in Hebrew Letters and Doctor of Divinity from Hebrew Union College where he also received rabbinic ordination. Concurrently, he received clinical training in counseling at the University of Cincinnati.

Jonathan draws upon his experience counseling families and from the wisdom of traditional texts in his work with family businesses. His experience includes having grown up as a third generation member of his grandfather’s business which included land development, an architecture firm, rebar and concrete companies.
